Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken cleaned
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Brush the chicken with olive oil and place it on the grill, skin side down.
  • Cook for about 15 minutes, then flip the chicken.
  • Baste the chicken with barbecue sauce and continue grilling for another 20-25 minutes.
  • Check the internal temperature (165°F or 75°C) with a meat thermometer.
  • Remove from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
