  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch optional, for thickening
  • Fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Increase the heat and add beef pieces, searing until browned on all sides.
  • Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
  • Add thyme, salt, and pepper, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 20 minutes.
  • If desired, mix cornstarch with a bit of water and stir into the sauce to thicken.
  • Continue cooking for another 5 minutes until the sauce reaches your preferred consistency.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
