Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until combined.
  • Fold in the chopped almonds and chocolate chips if using.
  • Divide the dough into two logs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Flatten the logs slightly and bake for 25 minutes until golden.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  • Slice the logs diagonally into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
  • Place the slices back on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until crispy.
