Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt over medium heat.
  • Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add pecans to the saucepan and stir to coat.
  • Continue cooking for 2-3 minutes until pecans are well-coated.
  • Transfer the pecans to the prepared baking sheet and spread them out.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet.
  • Once cooled, break apart any clusters and store in an airtight container.
