Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 sesame seed burger buns
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 1/2 onion sliced
  • Ketchup and mustard to taste
  • Pickles optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for grilling

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
  • In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then mix gently.
  • Divide the beef into 4 equal patties, making them slightly larger than the buns.
  • Use your thumb to create a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing.
  • Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.
  • Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of cheddar cheese on top.
  • Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.
  • Toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
  • Assemble the burger by placing lettuce, tomato, and onion on the bottom bun.
  • Add the cooked patty with melted cheese, and top with ketchup, mustard, and pickles before placing the top bun.
