Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Skewers soaked in water if wooden
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Peanut sauce for serving

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, turmeric, and lime juice.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well.
  • Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked skewers.
  • Brush the grill with a little oil to prevent sticking.
  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
  • Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  • Serve the chicken satay with peanut sauce and fresh cilantro.
