Combine the coffee and 4 cups of filtered water in a large pitcher.
Stir gently to ensure all grounds are saturated.
Cover the pitcher with a lid or plastic wrap.
Let the mixture steep at room temperature for 12-24 hours.
Prepare a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter.
Pour the coffee mixture through the strainer into another container.
Taste the cold brew and adjust strength by adding water if desired.
Chill the cold brew in the refrigerator if not serving immediately.
Serve over ice and add milk or sweeteners to taste.
