Cover the ribs tightly with foil to trap steam.
Bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
Remove the foil and brush barbecue sauce generously over the ribs.
Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through.
