Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, mixing until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the red food coloring and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • While the brownies cool, prepare the frosting by beating the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly on top.
