Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Take a whole bulb of garlic and peel off the outer layers of skin.
Slice the top off the garlic bulb, exposing the individual cloves.
Place the bulb on a square of aluminum foil.
Drizzle olive oil generously over the exposed cloves.
Sprinkle salt and pepper over the garlic.
Optionally, add fresh herbs for extra flavor.
Wrap the bulb tightly in the foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until tender.
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before unwrapping.
Press the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins and enjoy!
