Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g unsweetened cocoa powder for chocolate version
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • Fresh fruits for filling, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add in the vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture until just combined.
  • Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • While baking, prepare a clean kitchen towel and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
  • Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and immediately flip it onto the prepared towel.
  • Carefully peel off the parchment paper and roll the cake up in the towel. Let it cool completely.
