Ingredients

  • 40 saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the sheet.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in the brown sugar and bring to a boil.
  • Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Pour the toffee mixture evenly over the crackers.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  • Let the chocolate melt, then spread evenly.
  • Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces.
