Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 1 can 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh berries for topping optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder, and set aside.
  • In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely before soaking.
  • In a bowl, mix together evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream.
  • Poke holes in the cooled cake and pour the milk mixture over it, allowing it to soak for at least 1 hour.
  • Top with whipped cream and fresh berries before serving.
