In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Mix until well combined, but do not overmix.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties.
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on one side.
Flip the patties and cook for another 5-6 minutes, or until fully cooked through.
If using cheese, add a slice during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Toast the burger buns on the grill for a few minutes until golden.
Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on the bun, followed by lettuce, tomato, and any other toppings.
