Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 12 ounces ziti pasta
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  • Add marinara sauce to the skillet with the ground beef and stir to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked ziti at the bottom.
  • Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the ziti layer.
  • Pour half of the meat sauce over the ricotta layer.
  • Add another layer of ziti, followed by the remaining ricotta mix, and top with the remaining meat sauce.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
